Golf Tips For beginners

Golf Beginner GuideI`m guessing you are new to golf and you are looking for golf tips. For beginners and improving players alike, I`ve put together some advice which will give you some idea of what you should be doing to take your game to the next level.

Golf Clubs
Your choice of clubs, these days, is almost unlimited. Visit any online golf store and you will see thousands of different golf clubs on offer.
Initially, you do not want to be parting with mega-bucks for top-of-the-range clubs, you are not ready for them yet.
You can buy individual golf clubs and sets designed specifically for new and improving golfers. Over-sized club heads, along with perimiter weighting and a wide sole, all combine to make the clubs more forgiving for shots which are hit less than perfect.

Golf Balls

When it comes to golf balls, I`m afraid you get what you pay for. Major ball manufacturers like Titleist, Callaway and Srixon invest millions in research and technology - this is reflected in the price of their product.
So, my advice here is don`t buy cheap! I`m not suggesting you go for the most expensive, maybe the mid-range bracket.

Shoes

You must wear proper golf shoes on the golf course. I can`t advise you on design, that`s obviously a personal choice.
The average golf course is between 3 and 4 miles in length (if you hit the ball straight every time).
That`s a lot of walking, so make sure your shoes are comfortable, light and waterproof.

Practice

Once you have all the equipment, you`ll want to get out and start using it. It`s a good idea to get up to your local driving range to practice before you hit the golf course.
Check out my Driving Range Drills - this is how the professionals do it (the difference is that they hit hundreds, if not thousands of balls a day.

Tuition

I recommend you get some tuition, even if it is only basic. Any bad habits that you pick up now will be very difficult to get rid of - it`s better to learn the correct way from the start.
Professional golf lessons can work out very expensive (close to $100 per hour) and you are not going to get away with just one lesson!
A more affordable alternative is a golf tips for beginners book or DVD. The big advantage of these is you can pick them up for less than half the price of one golf lesson. Once bought, these items are always with you. You can refer back to them at any time, you can even practice in your own home and garden. I`ve found a wonderful book for new and improving golfers, take a look at my Independant Product Reviews.

Now you have all the equipment, the resources for the knowledge, and the enthusiasm - put it all into practice, practice ,practice.

Enjoy your golf.
